In December 2024, I had the privilege of participating in the annual Surfers Healing Holiday Auction held at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
Having attended the event the previous year and being inspired by the remarkable artwork adorning each surfboard, I knew deep down that one day, I wanted to contribute my own creativity to this meaningful cause. Having also experienced firsthand the profound impact of Surfers Healing, I was filled with even greater enthusiasm. Fast forward to a year later, the wonderful opportunity was presented to me and I could only say yes.
Surfers Healing is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with autism and their families by introducing them to the transformative power of surfing, providing a profound experience that reaffirms their capabilities and instills joy and healing.
Each surfboard gifted by an artist for this event serves as a symbol of hope and connectivity, with the proceeds from the auction directly supporting Surfers Healing's trips around the globe. It's not just about the art; it's about the collective effort to spread healing and possibility to those who need it most.
Crafting the design, meticulously painting my board within a 48-hour window, and subsequently seeing it showcased alongside the diverse array of artwork by other gifted artists in the hotel lobby of the Ritz was a moment I’ll keep with me forever.
